Along with academic work, an important aspect of college life at Vennard is relationships with other students.

Special events and activities provide opportunities to build friendships that can last for a lifetime. Extracurricular activities include a wide range of choices such as, Christian concerts on and off campus, I-Cubs baseball games, Des Moines Buccaneers games, seasonal banquets, shopping trips to regional malls and outlets, student led praise and worship, golf, tennis, intramural activities, movie nights, community service days, and Impulse Theatre.

The Student Council as well as the Dean of Students is involved in coordinating and planning activities for the students.
