VENNARD TEAM PULLS
TOGETHER TO MINISTER TO NEEDY PEOPLE

Subject: Katrina Relief Update from Larry Olson
Today was the first day the 38 of us were
all working together in Bayou La Batre. We were blessed
with the opportunity to reach out to the community again
today. A small group finished up the work for the installation
of the mobile clinic. The rest of the group was sent out
to hard hit Seaman Street. We were able to help in the gutting,
cleaning, and tree removal of three houses. There is still
an enormous amount of work that needs to be done, but we
are continuing to rely on God to present the right opportunities
for us.
This just in...
Dr. Moyer spoke by phone to Larry Olson who
is excited to have the team out in the community of Bayou
La Batre, going house to house to offer a helping hand.
The word has spread that "a college group is here to
help" and the townspeople are welcoming our team into
their homes and into their lives.

|
Emotions ran deep for a group of students
who spent time helping a couple try to salvage a lifetime
collection of treasures.

|
|
Olson also reported that student, Denise
Rodriguez (R), has earned the honorable title "Captain"
among her coworkers for her efficient work in assigning
clean-up jobs in people's homes. Denise's servant-leader
skills and past military experience have been an great asset
to the entire team.
The team will be working tomorrow (Sept. 22)
with World Hope International,
helping to distribute meals to 400 people.
|

Denise Rodriguez
is providing servant leadership as a team captain in the
relief efforts. She and her family are from the affected
region.

Thank you for your interest in this story
and the people involved.
Keep praying for them.
