VENNARD COLLEGE WORK
TEAM BEGINS TO HELP HURRICANE VICTIMS
September 18, 2005-(Bayou La Batre, AL)

Sorry that this is so late! We have not had internet access!
We arrived at 10:00 on Friday night and went
to work Saturday morning. It was difficult to see the destruction
that we encountered. People have lost everything! Everything
some people owned was sitting by the ditch to be picked
up by FEMA! It was heartbreaking to see how little people
had left of their lives.
The church was still standing, but is unusable.
We had to tear out walls up to 4 feet high, we had to clean
out garbage, and we had the chance to minister to people!
Three of our girls went to help a precious lady who had
already cleaned her parents home and was just starting to
clean her home. She had over 5 feet of water in her home
and was praising God that she still has a home to clean
up! We saw many homes that were totally destroyed!

|
We saw seafood businesses that may never re-open
for business!
Edgar and Denise went to Slidell, LA and helped
their family. They have many pictures that we will get up
to you ASAP.
Major destruction! It is almost impossible
to describe what we have seen and found. The area affected
is huge! Keep praying! The Lord is helping us, but frustrations
are mounting! We are getting a lot done.
Mark, for the group!
