High
School Scholars Program
This program is for local high school seniors
and juniors.
Our High School Scholars Program is a way
for academically qualified, students to begin to take college
courses for academic credit. It is particularly created
for local students with an interest in pursuing a degree
program at Vennard College upon graduation from high school.
The following policies govern the program:
Free or Deferred Tuition
Qualifying students will not be
charged tuition for the courses taken in the High School
Scholars Program. If the students are eventually accepted
into a degree program at Vennard College, the courses will
be added to their official transcript for an administrative
fee of $25 per course.
Other Fees/Costs
Other fees may apply
to certain courses. For example, some courses may have lab
fees. All courses taken in this program are transferable
to other institutions provided the student either (1) enrolls
in Vennard College for a minimum of 48 credit hours, or
(2) chooses to pay tuition for the courses competed. No
scholarhips or grants are applicable to courses completed
under this program. Textbook costs are the responsibility
of the student.
Course
Load Limits
No more than six
hours of credit (and no more than two courses) may be taken
in this manner in any single academic semester. The total
number of hours earned in this program may not exceed 18.
Online courses are not available to the High School Scholars
Program.
Course Level Limits
Students may only
register for 100 and 200 level courses, and courses may
not be taken out of sequence when prerequisites are required.

Additional
High School Credit?
In some states and
school districts, courses completed in the High School Scholars
Program may also fulfill high school graduation requirements.
Each student is responsible to explore this possibility
on his/her own. Vennard College will provide information
to assist you as needed. |
