Vennard
College admits students of any race, color, national
origin, gender, or age to all the rights, privileges, programs,
and activities generally accorded or made available to students
at the school. It does not discriminate
on the basis of race, color, age, national, or ethnic origin
in administration of its educational policies, admissions
policies, scholarships and loans programs, or athletic and
other school-administered programs.
While various types of aid are readily
available, the basic responsibility for financing
a college education rests with the student and his/her family.
Any financial aid is supplemental to the student's/family contribution.
A student's "financial need"
is the difference between the cost of attending Vennard
College and the total amount that a student and his/her
parents can be expected to contribute toward that cost. While certain grants may be awarded on the basis of student's "financial need" as calculated determined by a need
analysis which considers such factors as taxable
and nontaxable income, taxes paid, size of family, number
in college, assets, and the age of the parents.
The total amount of financial assistance
from all sources may not exceed the student's established
financial need.
Financial Aid is an ongoing process.
Consequently, a student must be evaluated and may need to
reapply each semester or every year.
Any student must be in good academic
standing in order to receive financial aid-that
is, making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Federal regulations state that students must maintain SAP
in order to be eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
According to the quantitative measure of SAP, the student
must pass a minimum of 70% of the courses
attempted. According to qualitative measure, they must have
a grade point average of at least 2.0 on
a 4.0 scale. A student must maintain SAP by the beginning
of their fifth semester. All institutional grants and scholarships
having GPA criteria are evaluated using an average of the
two most recently completed semesters; however, the "look
back" period must contain at least 24 credit hours. GPA
evaluations are done after each semester.
All registration process paperwork,
including Financial Aid paperwork, must be completed in
its entirety, including all entrance fees and deposits,
before any student will be eligible to obtain scholarships
or be involved in extracurricular activities.
