Vice President of Advancement

The VP of Advancement serves under the College President to give vision and direction to the entire public relations and stewardship program of the college.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve on the Administrative Committee of the college.
  • Oversee public and alumni relations.
  • Assist in generating the gift income portion of the annual fund.
  • Help develop relationships with and income from foundations and trusts.
  • Promote the planned giving program.
  • Supervise the maintenance and use of donor records.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience and success in donor relations and fund raising.
  • General knowledge of planned giving.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and people skills both personally and electronically.
  • Experience in administration, budget and personnel management, and public speaking.
  • Willingness to travel 25-30% of the time.
  • Agreement with the College’s Statement of Faith.

Director of Admissions

This position is available immediately. The search will remain open until the position is filled.

Position Overview:

  • The Director of Admissions manages all aspects of the Admissions Department related to recruitment, advertising/ promotion, application processing, selection of students, and transition to enrollment. A key team player, this position assists the administration, faculty, staff, and students in fulfilling the educational mission of the Vennard College.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implements a comprehensive recruitment plan. Assists in marketing and public relations activities.
  • Responsible for setting visionary recruitment goals, both present and future, in cooperation with the Administration, and successfully meeting those goals.
  • Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation.
  • Establishes and maintains staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates the staff.
  • Develops and maintains working relationships, communications and contacts internally as well as with other agencies, consultants, churches, general public, etc.
  • Heavily involved in the development of recruitment and marketing materials for the college; including advertising, publications and printing projects.
  • Assists with the design and execution of special events, projects and activities related to admissions and recruitment.
  • Reviews and recommends admissions processes and policies to the Administrative Committee and/or the Admissions Committee as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous college admissions experience is strongly preferred for this position.
  • Knowledge of marketing of all types and willingness to stay on leading edge of skills and techniques in student recruitment, especially in the Christian college market.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing client/customer relationship management software, e-marketing, and website technologies to recruit students.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and people skills via both personal and electronic means.
  • Willingness to attain a complete working knowledge of all programs offered to students, as well as other student services.
  • Experience in administration, computer systems, budget management, personnel and public speaking.
  • Must have the ability to understand and be in harmony with the Mission and Statement of Faith of Vennard College.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience required.
